Girls night out this Thursday, December 6!

Join us at Yarn Folk for refreshments (including fresh fudge from Mac-A-Bee’s), an in-store raffle, $5 boost on $25 gift certificates (redeemable on a future visit), and while quantities last, get a free printed pattern for the Arteixo Cowl when you purchase a skein of Malabrigo Rasta.

As always, every $10 you spend earns you a chance to win one of two event-wide gift baskets, with prizes from all participating downtown merchants.

This is always a fun event—hope to see you here!

CURRENT CLASSES & EVENTS

Wonderful Wallaby

November 7, 14, 28, & December 5, 5:00pm-7:00pm | in progress | Ann Miner

The Wonderful Wallaby is the knitted version of a classic hooded sweatshirt. It is knit in the round from the bottom up until the hood, which is knit back and forth. The stitches for the pouch pocket are picked up from the body, and knit back and forth. Sleeve shaping is done via raglan decreases. Sizing is child’s size 2-12.

Prerequisites: You should be comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and casting off, and should be familiar with a method for knitting small tubes—double points, two circulars, or magic loop.

This week, we brought in a few different options for swifts, ball winders, and interchangeable needle sets, along with needle cases and bags from Della Q. Sometimes these bigger ticket tools and accessories are exactly the kind of gift someone special might like to give you!

Also, if you’d like to create a wish list, I’d be happy to keep a note on file, and you can direct your “Santa” here to get a little help from an “elf.”

Holiday ornament projects can be a fun and speedy diversion this time of year—my Never Not Gnoming St. Nick took less than a day. He may need friends, and they may be fancier than he is, à la Here We Gnome Again.

For more tiny festive projects (many suitable for ornaments or gift embellishments), see my Holiday Ornament bundle of patterns on Ravelry.

Fernet Branca

Progress on the front of the sweater has continued—I’m motivated by both the desire to wear theh sweater AND the fact that I want my leftovers for a separate (secret) holiday project. Still haven’t investigated to figure out where things went sideways on the sleeve lengths.

Building Blocks

My current Project Circle project is the Building Blocks sampler, which will be a holiday gift. I’m halfway through the last block, then they will need to be connected. I’d give myself pretty good odds on getting this done in time!
