Don't you love it when somebody pushes you *toward* the fun? I was contemplating (out loud) starting a Daybreak shawl using Schoppel Zauberball Crazy & Wildfoote (different colors than I eventually decided on, but still). Not too much later, customer Melissa suggested a knitalong. Okay!! Even though I like darn near everything Stephen West has ever published a pattern for, I've never knit any of his designs. I cast on at knit night on Thursday, and I can't wait to start the striping section. I'm using Brown Sheep Wildfoote in Goldenrod, combined with color 1660 of the Zauberball Crazy--lots of nice caramel-y browns and golds with some soft blue and green.
You know that there is a Yarn Folk group on Ravelry, right? I started a thread, and if you want to play along with whatever yarn strikes your fancy, join in there!
Don't forget, Sunday, June 16th will be our Worldwide Knit in Public event from 12-4 at the shop, 304 N Pearl in Ellensburg. I've been having fun putting together the door prizes--I think we'll draw for them at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm. (I'm not hardcore enough to insist that you be present to win. But you do have to be present to enter!)
Also, on June 12th, I will close the shop about 90 minutes early, at 5:30 pm. Please be sure this will be a rare occurrence--you are much more likely to find me here early or late than not open during regular hours. But my son will be graduating from 8th grade, and I want to be there! Thank you so much for understanding!
