A number of people are participating in Knit Purl Hunter’s The Hole Story mystery KAL, which uses two skeins of Rylie, a beautiful alpaca, silk, and linen blend.  It’s a semi-circular shawl that begins with a garter tab.  One of the notable aspects about Michelle Hunter’s KALs is the amount of educational content she builds into them, along with support on her KAL blog and a dedicated Ravelry forum.  She has a number of nicely produced technique videos that go along with each project.

Although I knit it well after its time as a mystery project, one of my shop samples is Ridgely, which combined lace knitting with intarsia and stripes.  Not only was it an interesting knit, it gave me a chance to play with CoBaSi, a wool-free sock yarn which blends cotton, bamboo, and silk with a bit of elastic.

Knit Purl (Michelle) Hunter works closely with Skacel Knitting, and as a result, there’s a pretty good contest opportunity here.  First prize is a set of Addi Click interchangeable needles!

If you’re interested, come in or call me about the Rylie, and if you are playing along, there is also a thread in the Yarn Folk Ravelry group!
