I was poking around the Internet, reading about the history of county (and state fairs), and enjoyed this photo essay from Time. Kittitas County Fair superintendents for needlework will be on hand during Open Stitching tonight to answer any questions or help you register. You can enter items made within the last two years. It’s so inspiring to see other people’s work–but that’s only possible if we all participate in this great community event! Deadline for entry is Friday, August 14th, items are delivered just prior to the Fair, and there is no penalty for changing your mind!
(Mark, aka Mr. Yarn Folk, worked for awhile painting carnival ride backgrounds when he was younger, so we always look for the ones from Scenic Designs when we are on a midway. This one was at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds, and it’s one he worked on, though it’s been repainted since then.)
