Modified Hours this week, Don't Miss the Start of #KnitOrCrochetEveryDayInMay!

While I am sad I wasn't able to create the fun LYS Day experience I had planned, I am grateful for your understanding and expressions of care. Abandoning LYS Day this year allowed me to be fully present where I needed to be. My apologies for Sunday's email that did not contain the information I was trying to send--I had to move on to more pressing concerns.

This week was already planned to be a further diversion from normal hours. I will be traveling to Chicago for the h+h Americas wholesale trade show. Yarn Folk will be open somewhat modified hours as a result.

Tuesday (today): 7:00a - 1:00p (Any orders received by noon will be mailed out.)

Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00a - 3:30p

Friday & Saturday will be normal hours; 8:30a - 5:00p on Friday, and 9:00a - 4:00p on Saturday.

…new in the shop

We do still have free pattern codes that are good through May for Peony for Your Thoughts, a beautiful scarf designed for two skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. The scarf is pictured in Tosh Merino Light in the LYS Day 2024 color, Spring Fever. We also have the color in Tosh DK.

Kits for Casapinka's Local Yarn Cowl and SEK Handmade's Harper Scarf are still available. The prices have been updated to include the price of the patterns. We were excited to have such great designs in both knit and crochet this year. Local Yarn Cowl kits are here and Harper Scarf kits are here

…to inspire

Don't forget that Wednesday is the first day of #KnitOrCrochetEveryDayInMay! We operate this project on the honor system, so here's a reminder to start on the first! Grab your tracker here; everyone who finishes the challenge successfully gets a $5 discount code, and will be entered to win a gift basket from Yarn Folk.

If you're not accustomed to comfortably stitching every day, you might be concerned about repetitive stress. I wanted to share a useful piece by knitting ergonomic expert Carson Demers. Find his top three recommended changes for comfortable stitching here.yarnfolk dividing line (2).png

Here's a nearly  completed view of my Local Yarn Cowl. I combined the semi-solid Symfonie Terra in Pink Mauve with the lighter pink and orange variegated Tutti Fruity in Apple Fiber Studio's Gala. It's one of several options in the kits linked above.
